5. Korean Beef Bibimbap

Bibimbap brings together marinated beef, fresh vegetables, and a runny egg over rice. Each ingredient stays separate until you mix it all together. The result is a bold, spicy, and comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 cup short grain rice
- 1 cup spinach
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 4 eggs
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons gochujang paste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Cook rice according to package directions.
- Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and brown sugar in a bowl.
- Brown the beef in a skillet for 6 minutes.
- Pour sauce over the beef and simmer for 3 minutes.
- Blanch spinach and bean sprouts separately for 1 minute each.
- Sauté carrots in sesame oil for 3 minutes.
- Fry eggs sunny side up in a nonstick pan.
- Place rice in bowls and arrange vegetables and beef on top.
- Add fried egg and a spoonful of gochujang.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds before serving.
